Auctiva is basically for eBay sites with listing fees. If you were registered in eBay.com then you need to undergo the verification process. This could be the reason why you were asked for credit card details. EBay.com usually gets its listing fees from your credit/debit card.
Posting via Auctiva will list your item in eBay.com where you are not yet verified since you are registered in eBay.PH... kaya ka nahanapan ng CC details.
You can apply for a Visa Electron card at Unionbankph.com if you don't have any. Best to use a debit card than a credit card. I used this to verify myself in eBay.com
In short the only use Auctiva has for eBay.PH sellers who list in eBay.PH only is its showcase feature and storefront. Plus its numerous listing templates everybody can use. This are the only features I get to use in my listings. But it did increase my item views, based on Andale counters to almost 75%.
The beauty of Auctiva emerges when used at eBay.com where you can use all its features including (I think?) scheduled listings. It's the best free eBay tool I've ever encountered.
Yup... there are listing fees on the major eBay sites.
eBay Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia are currently free. No listing fees for posts done on this eBay sites.
Auctiva is free. But when you use it on major eBay sites... that's when the listing fees come in.
However, you cannot post on eBay.PH using Auctiva. But you can take advantage of its storefront and showcase features not to mention the numerous templates it offers for free.

hi.. I have a question again.. do i have to generate token so ican use the storefront and showcase features? Im really sorry about this. Im really to this..
Yes, you need to generate a token for Auctiva to run. This is the standard reply of Auctiva re: concerns about the token:
"What is a token and why do I need one?
To protect your eBay account, instead of sharing your username and password with third party sites, like Auctiva, eBay only shares an identifying 'token' which we store in our database. This token is a unique identifier assigned and controlled by eBay that allows Auctiva to perform operations on your behalf. The eBay token essentially makes the Auctiva session behave as if it were you signed into your eBay account.
Any time you want to perform an operation using Auctiva that requires contact with the eBay system, such as submitting a listing, you need to have a token.
How do I generate my eBay token with Auctiva?
Click here (http://www.auctiva.com/account/ebayaccount.aspx) to get directed to the Auctiva eBay token page. If you're not currently signed in, the page will ask you to sign in and then you will be forwarded to the token page.
What happens when I generate a token?
When you click a "Generate eBay Token" button, you are redirected to the eBay sign-in screen. eBay requests that you specifically agree to let them share necessary information from your eBay account with Auctiva Corporation for Auctiva functions.
When you click on "Agree and Continue," eBay assigns the token and you are switched back to the Auctiva screen with your eBay identity linked.
Auctiva offers Free Templates, Free Scheduling and Free Image Hosting - once you start listing on eBay using our powerful seller's tools, you'll immediately start realizing the advantages. Auctiva will save you money, save you time and can increase your revenues with each listing.
If at anytime, you're not happy allowing Auctiva to have your token, you can go to you're My eBay page and revoke the token.
We hope this helps to clarify the need to generate tokens and the safety and security assurance that comes along with your token."
Thank you for all the info. How do I add items to the showcase? Auctiva has imported all of my listings from Ebay but when I tried editing my showcase/store, it said there are no listings found.

seems im really getting a hard time getting my templates html in auctiva. i am able to get the html my profile seller's detail only. if i try using the save listing function and click "get html" nothing happens! aww...how come?
hi. newbie here, ive been buying things since the latter part of the previous year and have tried selling too. i tried learning html so that i can make my own page but had problems with it. so i decided to try auctiva, but i dont know how wala mang for philippines
I read in here that i can use the auctiva templates, one word: HOW??
I have filled up almost all of the profiles and saved all the details i need. then previewed it. it came out nice so i looked up the html source, my problem is that when i tried pasting it into ebay i got the error message that said javascript cant be used.
so i tried a diff tack and just chose a template, then copied the page source, now my problem is that i dont know where to plug in the details!
HELP!! HELP!! HELP!!
p.s. i could just cop out and not dress up my pages but i find the ones with the designs much more appealing, di ba? so i want my pages pimped too!
On eBay PH, you can only use Auctiva's Store Window and the custom templates.
For you to use the templates, you need to have some expereince with HTMLs.
Since you don't have that experience and you want your listings to be "pimped", you can make use of auction template generators. And you need to learn basic HTML.
i've been using auctiva for couple of years.. i get no problem. i only use it for a gallery showase of my listed items. it works fine. check mine so you may have an idea.
as long as you do not remove the part of the template where it states that it is copyright by auctiva, or use the graphics in the template elsewehere, no, you are not violating any copyright laws. this also goes for any template you use and customize, unless the template creator gives you explicit permission to remove the copyright information.
i think the ebay token is just for automatic insertion of the auctiva window...not 100% sure though.
i can't find any statement which says that it is copyrighted by auctiva. instead, the following line appears when i tried it on my listing: "Certain images and/or photos used in this template are the copyrighted property of JupiterImages and are being used with permission under license."
pero dun sa mismong html template niya ay may nakalagay na: "<!-- Auctiva Corporation - Copyright 1999-2006 . Auctiva Corp. maintains all rights to the HTML and images used to create this template. Unauthorized Duplication is Prohibited -->"
hmm..pano kaya ito...siguro i'll try na lang the links posted by katana_hunter in this thread (free ebay templates)...ang gaganda kasi sana nung nasa auctiva
pero dun sa mismong html template niya ay may nakalagay na: "<!-- Auctiva Corporation - Copyright 1999-2006 . Auctiva Corp. maintains all rights to the HTML and images used to create this template. Unauthorized Duplication is Prohibited -->"
that's the part i meant =) as well as the part that goes "Certain images and/or photos used in this template are the copyrighted property of JupiterImages and are being used with permission under license."
you shouldn't remove either of those because those are the copyright notes for both auctiva and jupiterimages. i've seen kasi several auctiva templates being used in the past that removed those, and that's bad netiquette, because you essentially then claim the template/images as yours.
and yes, i agree, ang gaganda ng templates sa auctiva =)
