by the way, yun mga all caps di para maging rude, i just want to stress to pinoydom kung ano ang sinasabi ko. it seems that he doesn't know that this is happening or he is just denying it.
You can email me your account name so that we can take action. It's not fair to our company if you will withold the facts in a public forum with out giving details. I know that there is a valid reason if ever what you are saying is true.
Maraming salamat din sa iyo ng marami and rest assured that we are always open for improvements. To meet your reasonable expectations is our goal.
tip lang mga ebayers, di ata maganda bumili ng electronics sa us then isend here, kasi pagdating dito para syang sumisingaw ng malamig tapos nasisira agad. example: my mom sent me a video cam, when i put the battery and turned it on para syang nagpawis then ilang months lang sira na. i was also send a desktop computer, ilang months lang sira na rin, same with a camera. kaya takot na ako sayang. and sabi ni hubby ko ang mga computers daw na sold in america made ata for cold climates talaga. although i know may cities din naman na mainit.
if you guys wanna pasabay sa boxes ko pwede from time to time minsan kasi hirap magpuno, kaso from nevada pa so may travel time pa to california then 22-27 days from us to here.
hi. i availed of manila forwarders services a few months back. so far, maganda naman result. got my jumbo box 1 month lang after they shipped it. they'll really gonna assign 1 person who'll take care of your things. siya magiging constant ka e-mail mo. satisfied ako sa communication nila and pag update ng mga items na dumadating sa kanila (ako pa nga ang may lapses kasi busy sa work). what made me happy was that when the box arrived ( i hink around 9pm or 10pm), each item may naka label kung kanino gamit. now, i am availing my 2nd box na sa kanila.
less hassle talaga instead of asking relatives to consolidate and pack things for you.
Isabella_swan, the cargo holds of vessels and aircraft are not climate controlled, unless senders want to pay for such services. Electronics and other perishables are guaranteed to malfunction after being bounced around in such severe conditions.
Only a hermetically sealed container with adequate padding and lots of silica gel can probably save electronics shipped in those boxes. Additionally, electronics that travel in the holds of jets are subjected to near-vacuum and freezing conditions at the altitudes jets travel at. In a vacuum, liquids such as moisture surrounding a dry object will be forced into the dry object. This is called spalting and is a dirty word in the air cargo and marine insurance industries.
Hi sis isabella_swan! How often do you have boxes shipped? I may take you up on your offer and ask a few stuff to be shipped with yours. I'm planning to purchase items online pero around July pa. Please let me know your shipping schedule. Thanks!
hi po! did anyone tried lbc cargo? Yon po lagi gamit ko pg send me ng items sa family ko dyan sa Phil. every month po me nag send ng box kahit minsan hindi pa me nag ka problema. 40 days lang po ung sa visayas area. Ung air cargo din nila 5 to 7 days lang.
there are a lot of cargos out there, the problem is the consolidation of items. so far, only Manila Forwarder does it. (AFAIK) (i think im in my 10th box already...)
Hello there, am happy to have found this thread. Gusto ko rin sana mag-order ng stuff online, mostly for personal use.
@pink*patchwork....Question: Are small electric appliances considered "electronics", and so, taxable? Kunyari, ice cream maker? Who assesses the tax charges, Manila Forwarder (or Phil customs)? Thanks
pag thru balik bayan boxes. no taxes kasi yun yung privillige ng isang pinoy overseas. pro if you gonna use non balik bayan boxes like, fed ex, lbc, dhl then you gonna pay taxes.
Thanks for responding pink*patchwork! I am puzzled as to why Manila Forwarder would do that (collecting tax from customers, in advance -- at ang laki ha, 10%), especially when the boxes do not contain items that are of "commercial quantity," or super high-value items. Daig pa nila ang Phil customs! I've had past experience shipping through LBC (sea cargo) and Johnny Air (air cargo), and neither of them do that. p.s. Johnny Air Cargo adds on a $50 customs-related fee only if $1000 up ang value, or if your order contains a laptop).
I tried to e-mail them recently, inquiring about how to pay for forwarding a package with non-standard dimensions) di rin masyado responsive in terms of customer service. So far, I'm not (yet) impressed.
Chiliapple, FYI every Filipino store, restaurant, travel agency, insurance agency, Amway dealer, Avon Pinay Lady, etc., are all involved somehow in balikbayan box forwarding and TFC Channel sales. It's beeg bidnezz heyar en de U S of A.
You probably got tangled with an agent of friend of an agent of a friend of an agent of friend of a legitimate cargo forwarder. I checked out the website for you. Duh. Inspires confidence, ya, mon?
Hi txhandshake... am a little puzzled with your message... tangled with whom?? I wasn't saying M.F. isn't legit... in fact I'm happy for those who have worked with M.F. successfully Na-inspire nga ako and I wanted to try out their services eh. I believe, though, that perceptions about service providers are usually formed from one's personal experience in dealing with them first hand...
As a first-time customer, who has tried to communicate with them the past 3 weeks -- inconsistent replies from different people, and lately, no replies at all....di pa ako masyado confident magpadala sa kanila. In my opinion (again, opinion ko lang naman ito) the tax thing is a little out of the ordinary, and so far, my customer service experience isn't great, compared to the two other providers I've used multiple times before. turn off ako sa kanila, yun lang
Chiliapple, I'm sorry for confusing you with ghetto jive. When I wrote, "Duh. Inspires confidence, ya, mon?", I was being sarcastic about their website, if that's what it can be called. Maybe it's because I look for professionalism in all aspects, including websites, from people I want to entrust with my money and valuables.
And my message generally meant that there are gazillions of balikbayan box dealers/salespeople/birddogs/agents and accredited, licensed, registered and bonded FIRST LEVEL professional and full time cargo forwarders known to---and dealing directly---with airlines and shipping companies as well as with U.S. government agencies. It's up to you who you want to deal with.
Best US-PHIL cargo company I know of is CHAMPION CARGO. Tony runs the office out of SPRING VALLEY, CALIFORNIA. Good, low prices and excellent delivery times. No problems over years of service. Fair, fast and accurate.
To all those interested in consolidating and packing their online purchases from the US and sending them to the Philippines thru balikbayan boxes, you can contact WORLD CONNECTIONS INC. based in Los Angeles CA. They are a fulfilment logistics warehouse and freight forwarder accredited by FMC (Federal Maritime Commission), IATA (Intl Air Transport Assoc) and a member of the NCBFAA (Natl Customs Brokers & Forwarders Assoc of America). They already handle this type of service for some Philippine companies that take up full ocean containers. They don't do the balikbayan box shipping but you can specify your choice of balikbayan box shipper, so you're in control. Contact info for WORLD CONNECTIONS INC., e-mail: info@wccargo.com
Pink*Patch: World Connections up there really sounds like a good deal, but I don't have any candidates I can recommend based on my experience. You see, I do not have such experience. I've never sent nor plan to send a balikbayan box anywhere, anytime soon. Not even as luggage this coming January when I plan to throw a java at Malacanang Coffee Lounge.
I send things to Pinas piecemeal via surface mail, in little envelopes and tiny boxes.
hi! i availed of manila forwarder's consolidation thingy and so far i am satisfied with their communication, i'll be receiving my box this first august, i hope it works out well.
TAXES, TARIFF,VAT, ETC Nakakatuwa po at napupulsuhan natin ang ating mga consumer thru this forum. Unang-una po ay maraming salamat sa openness nyo sa mga tanong, papuri, at criticism. We take all of this seriously and positively. Wala pong personalan.
Manila Forwarder employs licensed brokers and experienced freight forwarders. We also send packages to various competitions and service providers to gauge the market and provide the best alternative, legally.
Taxes, tariff, and VAT varies depending on the commodity being shipped. The method of shipment also varies as there is formal and non-formal entries which Manila Forwarder both do.
After putting ourselves in your shoes, we decided to keep things simple thus when you ship thru Manila Forwarder, there will be no surprises on extra charges when it reaches the Philippines.
This is like taking clients as hostage as they would have no ther choice. We want to treat clients as we would like to be treated, too.
If we have to pay more than our assesment, based on client's declaration which we scrutinize, we pay it using our funds to keep it simple for everyone, unless there is a gross misdeclaration.
How would you feel, after being quoted by a freight forwarder, then you will be asked to pay extra X amount of money for taxes only when the shipment reached the Philippines? This is one reason there are abandoned shipment at the port because the importer is not properly informed or not qualified to ship such- Pag hindi afford, huwag pilitin. Sayang lang po at ma seizure lang at may penalty pa.
Hi Mr Paez! Yes, I can testify to that. I know already the shipment cost and tax charge before they ship out my package. I am a regular customer of Manila Forwarder and so far I am satisfied.
Is it wise to send a digital SLR camera to the Philippines? I might consider Manila Box, It is located here in San francisco, Ca. Any tips or suggestions please?
mgarcia168: So you like Chinese, Vietnamese, Malaysian, Sri Lankan, Central & South American, and Caribbean products? If you do, then please SHOP-'TIL-YOU-DROP IN THE U.S.A.!!!

Will give a personal feedback regarding the services of manila forwarder soon. We are are currently on a double checking stage before shipment. This is my first time to used manila forwarders.Hoping it will be okay because currently I'm having a problem on 2 items delivered to their address. This incident will affect my future plans if i'm going to get their services again or not anymore.
Let see,I cannot provide any details until my major concern will be resolve or not.
