Hi, just a heads up A friend made me open an RCBC MyWallet Visa (To open is just P100, then you should deposit to activate your card, no maintaining balance, no interest though and P10 fee everytime you deposit) because according to him, you can already use it to verify it in Paypal.
I already have an EON linked to my Paypal, but I opened an account anyway since it's only P100 and I have an existing RCBC account so I can easily make online fund transfers from my RCBC account to MyWallet account without having to pay the P10 deposit fee (why do banks think fees are a good idea anyway)
However, it's VERY hassle to get the 4-digit paypal code. Since there's no transaction history available, you need to either call up their customer service 877-RCBC / 877-7222 or email them customercontact@rcbc.com. They need your full name, card number, and other personal details that you provided when you opened the account. Then they will email your 4-digit code within 2 days. I got mine the day after.
Paypal website says that P100 will be deducted from my account, but P102 was the actual amount deducted from my account. I still haven't called RCBC about the additional P2...
@katana_hunter No transaction history for their MyWallet cards..The cards aren't accessible via the bank's online banking website. I could only check my account online through Bancnetonline.com and you can only check the current balance..
@bookmarkables I haven't tried it yet, since I don't sell internationally and I mostly use paypal for purchases. I'll probably check it out sometime
I recently used the mywallet visa (via paypal) for an ebay purchase, and it went alright. The only problem is the lack of a detailed transaction history. You have to request for a statement of account from the branch, I think.
So I think I'm going to depend on Paypal's transaction history to monitor my account and bancnetonline to verify the amount deducted. Hopefully online transaction history is available soon.
@bookmarkables- are you sure PayPal charged you P101.00 PHP? because PP don't overcharge customers for linking and confirming cards. whatever charged on your account, it will be refunded the same amount as what was debited from you. You may want to contact your bank regarding that one peso.
An update on using MyWallet Visa on Paypal... So far the amount in peso charged to my card is same as the one listed in Paypal. I bought the item on ebay, used the MyWallet Visa card to pay for it.
I still haven't contacted RCBC on the additional P2 but so far it only happened when I linked and verified my mywallet visa to Paypal.
I have a theory that it's similar to the additional P1 charged to my eon everytime I use my eon on iTunes. When I called unionbank about it they said they didn't charge it, iTunes did.. It did show up as a separate transaction though.
I'm glad i found this forum. I wanna use my RCBC "Mywallet" to pay my subscription on www.greataupair.com How will i know if it gets thru? What are my proof to show that i already pay my subscription to them?
for you to check your payment for subscription, log in to your account and check the transaction history. There is an option there to filter transaction and then select subscription. You should be able to see that you have paid for the subscription.
Is the RCBC Mywallet a prepaid card or an ATM debit card?
@miss.lauren According to their website, it's a prepaid debit card.
@meleena23 Yes, you can link /verify the MyWallet Visa to your Paypal. And you can use it to
RCBC MyWallet VISA Prepaid debit card - Prepaid debit ATM card with VISA functionality, so you can use it abroad to withdraw cash or use for payments (swipe like credit card) anywhere there's a Visa logo.
It's a prepaid debit card so it means the value is stored in the card itself. Debit card if it's linked to a savings or checking account. Actually, I think all ATM cards are debit cards since they are linked to your deposit account and your account is "debited" once you use it, but not all have visa/mastercard functionality.
the RCBC mywallet card, have you added the card on your PP account as a bank account or as a credit/debit card?
mostly Filipinos have the errors regarding cards. For the option to add a bank account ( Local) those should be a local bank account in the philippines. like savings or checking account for most banks in the phils. actual bank account with either passbook or checkbook.
the credit/debit card section is for card that is listed as a credit card that you usually used for shopping which is issued by the bank. it should have billing address, Visa, Mastercard, Amex logo on it, card verification number and expiration date. if it doesnt have any or one of these requirements, the card cannot be added on file thus will result to failed addition of the card.
cash card/atm card normally does not qualify as a card on PayPal because it lacks billing address and on some instances, Logos of major card issuer.
prepaid card can be used on PayPal as long as it too has requirements set by the system.
I added the card on my paypal as a CREDIT/DEBIT CARD.
And yes, I was able to successfully link the card in my Paypal, which I (briefly) documented here on the ebay forums. I've also used it twice via ebay and it worked. Already received my items from the sellers in HK and Korea.
Most people have errors when they attempt to link their credit or debit cards because some banks / credit card companies have restrictions when using their cards on the internet. And for Paypal, they too have certain restrictions regarding debit cards since these can be issues practically to anyone without the proper verification, as mentioned by you.
Bottomline, if you are not sure if your card is accepted at online stores or Paypal, call your bank's customer service.
yeah! thats true. if you have received error messages when linking it, then call your bank first before PayPal.
if you are using an EON card from UnionBank, it can be use as a debit card and also a bank account. the 16 digit number is for card and the 12 digit account number is for the bank account.
something to add lang: I made a comparison with the other debit cards out right now, and rcbc mywallet visa is the most affordable. The mercury drug mywallet visa is free to open, but you only need to deposit P100 to activate it, plus the P10 loading fee. And the P100 is loaded to your card so you can use it already. And it has suki points pa and I think MRT pero haven't tried it.
Take note that before you leave the rcbc branch, load it already so you can use it for paypal or stores. Then you can activate your Suki Points at any Mercury Drug store nationwide, just bring the cut out portion of the application form.
Hey may problem ako regarding sa RCBC my wallet / Suki Card. I had it activated kasi dito sa Mercury drug outlet namin, and when the noob girl was typing the details sa pc, saka ko lang napansin na mali yung nainput niya na Middle initial ko >,< and then when i told her abut it she said 'ay maam final na po yun' wow diba. wala ako sa mood mangaway that time kasi I'm so ired na din from work. Will it affect my future transactions kaya? Thanks for your reply guys.
@kapengbutete I don't think I'm the best person to answer this, pero I'm *assuming* that if it's the error of mercury drug personnel, you better check mercury drug to make sure that it won't affect future suki card related transactions. But if your info in rcbc is correct naman when you opened the account, it shouldn't be a problem. you can always have your info updated, just like in any other bank.
hello! I have successfully link my paypal account with rcbc. My problem is withdrwing money. How long doex it take for the money to rrflect in my account? I withdrew 7k and paypal history said it was completed but when i check my balance it still not rdflected there. Pls help. Thanks
pls note that it will take 5-7 business days for the funds to appear on the card statement although it shows as completed, it means that it has completed through the paypal system..and not necessarily completed into the account of the customer.
if it passed the 7 business days and you haven't seen the money pls contact card issuer and then PayPal
that is not robbery. you have to watch your words.
it is included into the PayPal User Agreement that when you add credit/debit cards on the account, PP will have to charge the card because they verify your information. to make sure you are the account holder.
this charge will go back to your PayPal balance once you have confirmed your card with PP.
i have been planning to go to Davao City to get a EON account so that i can have my PAYPAL account. but suddenly it came in my mind to search for other bank's cashcard.. I tried BDO Cashcard coz i thought that when the card has the logo of VISA,MASTERCARD,AMEX, etc... it will be accepted in PAYPAL but that is not true.. when I ask BDO, they told me that they are not affiliated with PAYPAL, therefore, I conclude that just because the card has a MARK/LOGO of those VISA,MASTER CARD, it does'nt mean you can use it in PAYPAL.
With my wild guess, i tried to visit the website of RCBC just to see how does their cash card looks like.. it just out of my curiosity.. coz im just a card enthusiast or should i say i really love to collect cards... i love the design and on the otherhand, i can really use it in all my transactions.. and it got me surprised coz i saw the RCBC cashcard desigh with the VISA LOGO and i immediately searched for the forums about RCBC mywallet and BOOM! it is acceptable in PAYPAL.. i read many articles, blogs about it and it says that you can really use it in PAYPAL..
So I went to RCBC on October 18,2012 to apply.. you will pay for only Php100 for the card and you need to load it atleast Php100 for the verification from PAYPAL in future when you try to link it to your PAYPAL account. PAYPAL will get that Php100 and will return it to you right after they verify your account..
On October 19, I went back to RCBC to claim my card.. YEHEY!! its finally in my hand!! when i got home, i turned on my PC to link it to my PAYPAL account.. i've done it but it still has some limitations until you verify your debit/credit card. so what i did is, i immediately sent an email to RCBC to ask that 4 DIGIT verification code that PAYPAL is asking..
Early morning the next day, i received the email from RCBC with the 4 DIGIT code that i am asking them.. WOW!!! then i got it!! so i log in to my PAYPAL account to input the 4DIGIT code.. and Finally, i am verified! i can now send and receive funds from PAYPAL..
I have so many thanks to PAYPAL coz i can now easily receive funds that is being sent to me such as my commission, salary from the online employers that pays $$$ when you can do something to their company.
You might also be want to join if you also want to earn $$ at home specially when you are just using facebook all the time, well, why dont you value your time?? just like I did.. I am now earning up to $300 every month.. that is why I register to PAYPAL to receive that funds.. and thanks to RCBC cash card MYWALLET!!
by the way, here is the link if you want to EARN Money by just using Facebook and do the jobs that you know.. I just want to share the BLESSINGS of GOD..
